In a nutshell:  A systematic review and meta-analysis of RCTs examined the reported effectiveness of fall-prevention programs for older adults by reviewing RCTs from 2000 to 2009.  Results indicates that RCTs of fall-prevention programs are effective in overall reduction of fall rates.
