In a nutshell: Research by the WRVS has shown that the fear of falling means 225,000 people over 75 won’t leave their homes by themselves. This research shows the devastating effect falls can have on a person’s mental health and wellbeing. People revealed that they have lost confidence and independence, and feel exceptionally vulnerable in winter. The WRVS is calling for anyone who is worried about having a fall to call the charity urgently.
