In a nutshell: Multifactorial falls interventions may result in a significant reduction in falls, but their effectiveness at reducing injuries in centre-based falls clinics is unclear. This randomised controlled trial assessed the effectiveness of a multifactorial falls prevention programme on the rate of falls and related injuries on home-based older people. The programme was found to be effective in preventing falls in older adults, reducing the rate of falls and injuries by up to 30%.
