In a nutshell: The paper tried to verify the association between falls and self-assessed acuity of vision in 1593 people aged 60 and over. Elderly people assessing their eyesight as bad or very bad fell more compared to those who believed they had good or excellent sight. This shows the need to contact those elderly people with difficulties in their sight and create actions to prevent possible falls.
