Sarcopenia and falls in community-dwelling elderly subjects in Japan

In a nutshell: Sarcopenia is characterised by low muscle mass and strength, and low physical performance. This study assessed the association between sarcopenia and falls in the past year in elderly Japanese people in the community. Sarcopenia was found to be associated with falling in elderly people, meaning prevention interventions for sarcopenia may help prevent falls.
